See, now you moved the goalpost. Haha.
Fwiw about 1,000 kids have died in the US of COVID since this started. That’s not zero. Hardly any? Well, I guess that’s a matter of opinion. And that’s just fatalities, of course. There are many times more impacted in terms of morbidity. I’m not so quick to dismiss that.
But again you glossed over something really fucking obvious about this whole mess. It’s an infectious disease, dude. The risks associated with kids getting COVID doesn’t stop with the kid’s health. You think that’s unimportant at this point. Well, guess what…that’s a big part of the problem, and a big part of why we’re not doing better. So thanks. Sincerely.
And omg do you not see how ridiculous the “let everyone live their lives and not live in fear” line is? Wow. It’s so hyperbolic, so silly. Something as simple as masking up in schools…the infectious disease equivalent of wearing a seatbelt while driving down the highway or not standing in an open field holding a really tall metal pole in a lightening storm…doesn’t mean people can’t live their lives and live without fear. There’s a pretty wide gap between “living in fear” and pushing for common sense precautions to protect your health and the health of people around you during a once-in-a-century pandemic that’s killed nearly 1 million Americans.
